Learn more about your emotions and acne:

When it comes to healing acne, if the standard products and medications aren’t working for you, it’s time to dig deeper.

The heart of acne, the root cause, is often linked to systemic inflammation and hormonal issues. To heal acne, we need to get to the bottom of what is causing these problems for you.

Constantly feeling self conscious, insecure, trapped, or emotionally volatile can contribute to these root causes and may be adding to your acne troubles.

You may be thinking, “No, I feel insecure because of my acne.”

I understand. Having acne can be an emotional roller coaster sometimes. It’s hard to feel good about yourself when your face is covered in spots.

But it’s not always as simple as “my acne makes me feel bad.” I truly believe that in some cases, it’s the other way around. The insecurity causes the acne. Don’t understand how that’s possible? Read on.

HOW YOUR EMOTIONS AFFECT YOUR SKIN

You could look at in one of two ways, or blend both.

If you like a metaphysical approach to life, we could explain the concept with the law of attraction. The basic idea is that our thoughts manifest into our reality. You worry that something about you isn’t good enough, and so acne manifests to prove you right.

That’s one way to look at it, but I like to blend science into my approach, so here it is in more measurable terms.

Anxiety and insecurity causes us stress. Stress releases cortisol and other hormones in the body that, for acne prone people affect skin cell growth and sebum production, and increase inflammation, resulting in breakouts.

Worrying about acne can quite literally cause acne.

Getting to the heart of those insecurities will very likely improve your skin, but more than that, it’s going to improve much of your life. Do not underestimate the power of healing your heart.
